ایروان پایتخت ارمنستان از قدیمی ترین شهرهای جهان است که دارای معماری زیبا و منسجمی است.
کارشناسان ارمنستانی می گویند یک طراحی خوب شهری به مردم اشتیاق می‌دهد و آنها را به محیط و شهر علاقه‌مند می‌کند. "مگرتیچ میناسیان" رییس انجمن معماران ارمنستان گفت: در طراحی شهر ایروان معماری، فضای سبز و ساکنان شهر در ارتباط تنگاتنگ با یکدیگر قرار دارند. وی افزود: معماری و فضای شهری از هم جدا نیستند و محیط زندگی به وسیله معماری متجلی می شود از این رو باید در احداث یک بنا حساسیت به خرج دهیم تا یک بنای ماندگار احداث کنیم.
"علی باقری" دانشجوی رشته معماری ارمنستان نیز گفت: در معماری شهر ایروان همگونی خوبی در نماها و طراحی شهر وجود دارد. اما در سالهای گذشته ساخت و ساز در ارمنستان رشد بی سابقه ای داشت و این امر سبب شد ایروان پایتخت ارمنستان نیز مانند دیگر پایتختهای جهان قربانی ساخت و سازهای بدقواره و بی رویه برخی شرکتهای ساختمان سازی شود. مردم می گویند احداث ساختمانها و برجهای مثلثی و مکعبی سبب شده، بخشی از فرهنگ معماری و بافت خانوادگی و اجتماعی شهر ایروان در زیر ستون برجهایی که مظهر تمدن پوشالی غرب است له شود. جامعه شناسان معتقدند: زیبا‌کردن چهره شهر میزان بروز خشونت‌ها و دیگر ناهنجاریهای اجتماعی را کاهش می‌دهد. "آهارون آدیبگیان" تاکید کرد: شهر، آینه تمام ‌نمای جامعه است. آثار و ابنیه شهر و معماری جدید و ساختمانهای جدید باید به گونه ای باشد که سبب زیبایی و انبساط خاطر شهروندان شود.
